Exciting (perhaps to me only) news, compatriots, kinsmen, and yet-strangers! I have translated this website into Spanish.

How to Access Translations
#

Translations by me are now available via the little ‘Translate’ icon in the top right. It looks something like this:

( A | 文 ) EN

EN is for English, ES is for Spanish.

This icon should be available on any page of my site that has a translation written and posted. Using it will take you directly to that page’s translation. You can then also use it to get back to the English version.

Or, check it out the whole Spanish-language version of the website via this link:

My hope is to make it easier to share my writing with my Spanish-speaking friends and family. I know that reading in another language can sometimes be a chore; I’d rather do the work up front once than make everyone do it themselves in their heads! Also, translating is quite fun for me :o) It helps me confront all the places I’m lacking in vocabulary, grammar, and style - in both languages. After all, I’m translating my own writing.

I’ve translated and posted all the main pages, plus three of my blog posts, so far. I will continue to post more blog post translations as I go.

Slightly Fixing My Busted Spanish
#

This nifty orthography and grammar site has been helping me not butcher the gorgeous language of Spanish more than I already do:

Language Tool - Spanish Grammar Checker

I write my post, paste it in there, and am instantly flooded with dozens of failing marks on how many times I flubbed the gender of an idea or inanimate object. Thank you, computer.

I frequently ignore many of the recommendations on less concrete errors, perhaps out of pride or arrogance, but some I will accept…

Note

My poetry only lives on the original English section of my website. I do not plan to translate every poem, nor do i plan to segregate my poems per language. I will continue to, however, translate the prosaic pages, as I see relevant.

Hugo and Blowfish - Goated

I express my gratitude to the Hugo and Blowfish creators and maintainers for building a robust website framework and theme that made the extra work surrounding this task quite simple, indeed.

Thank you! ¡Gracias!
